Direct Injecting Cobra 148 and 2000

Ok here is how to direct inject the audio on a cobra 148, 2000, or a uniden grant. You will need the following: 1 - 1/4 mono jack chassis mount. 1 - 10uf cap 16v or higher. 1 - on/on mixcro switch. also you will need some wire and soldering stuff.
1. drill and mount the mono jack and switch. 2. locate and remove C174. 3. Solder the + leg of the 10uf cap to the + hole of C174. 4. Solder a wire from - leg of the 10uf cap to the center pin of the on/on switch. 5. Solder a wire from one side of the switch to the - hole of C174. 6. Solder a wire from other side of switch to + of the mono jack. 7. Solder a wire from - side of mono jack to board ground (You can solder it to a can).
Ok you are done. now you can switch from direct injection to the stock mic plug. you will also need a way of keying radio. you can use the stock mic but you need to unhook the audio wire in it. if you need help building a foot or hand switch just let me know. also if you have any questions about this mod please feel free to ask .I hope this helps someone.
