eh figured it was worth a shot, i'm looking to mount on the grab handle at the back since it's one of those that pieces together in 3 different points and would allow the antenna to be centered as well as out of the way. i'll get to lowes soon, working out a few bugs right now

depending on what you're doing the 1/8 inch thick material may not be sturdy enough , it is a PITA to neatly bend too
I'm going with 1/4" for the bracket. elecrical is almost ready as is coax routing. this project will be more fun in a few weeks, ordering a big bore kit to make it 85cc at least, who knew these could be fun? checked out the mileage on it today, barely over 1800 miles, i pretty much stole this thing lol

So project CB scoot has taken off and is operational. I ended up with a Midland 1001z to sit on the "dash" under the gauges. Not the best radio by any means, but the receive is good! 9' of mini 8 and a 4' fiberglass HighGear by Cobra A400 antenna from eBay, it's a decent little scoot rig. I'm working on a helmet mic and speaker idea, it's a little tough to hear going down the road. I'm actually considering using a EC2018 Xtreme mic to toy around with and since most everything is being encased in a weatherproof housing, make it plug and play for the helmet with a PTT button on the left hand grip area. More pics to come as I get them.

That's pretty cool!
Kickin' it Old School in Central Maine!
catching skip in the receive on that thing is crazy, it's even better cruising around town and hearing locals talking about it on the radio lol....I swear I've about lost my mind. Now if I could just upgrade the charging system to keep up with my long winded self and run a decent radio I'd be golden lol
