Wouldn't worry about it...That's pretty common when adding a amp...Some amps are not as bad as others, but usually once you add a amp in-line, you will see a slightly higher SWR...Sometimes you can fool the SWR Meter into reading lower just by using a longer coax jumper cable between the amp and meter...(If you just want to see a lower SWR reading)
Best way to get the SWR lower with the amp in-line, is to do some more fine tuning on the antenna, with the amp in-line, but turned off....Get that 1.2 SWR down to where channels 1 and 40 are closer to reading the same, and then when you turn on the box, you should see a improvement.
