check the ribbon cable and solder joints. if not that get schematic and trace voltages until you loose them. also check the pull up resistors

Good ole radios , ive had one for back up for years.
check that you have the correct LED as they come common cathode or common anode also check that you have volts on the ribbon cable depending on the polarity you will see either all seven positive and one negative leads or all seven negative one positive lead if that does not cure it look at the channel selector make sure it has the correct voltages and that they change as you turn the selector knob.
check the individual segments of the LED using a DVM multi meter find the common the move around the pins measuring to the common from each one you can see the working segments should glow a little if working if not try reversing the red and black leads try again this is a lot simpler than it sounds. hope this helps
