Do some research my friend has the first production of the Stryker 955 and he ran into alot of problems and prefers the Ranger 2950DX to it much more. Also if using a Texas Star 500, the Ranger 2950DX with 30-40 watts would sound alot better. The stryker is to high powered a radio to really drive the Texas Star, it could if you dialed down the RF Power all the way, but a waste of money with Stryker 955 vs the Ranger 2950DX. Read the reviews of both and you will see the 2950's have one of the best histories of radio's on SSB and AM for being stable and great audio.
