Or I'll just call and ask for it tomorrow. not sure of the size of the pic I just posted but it came from the 980 manual, page 18.

Lol poking around in the fcc's shit to find it
It would have been poetic justice if they did have it. Just leaving no rock unturned. Scoured the Uniden website no luck and searched by the file names in the FCC docs. I'll call Uniden today and see what they have to say. If I score a digital copy I'll post it.
Just emailed customer service to see what they have to say.
Got a useless automated email from Uniden offering an owners manual so I called and asked for their CB/scanner dept. The person I spoke with was nice but stated that there are no plans to release or make available for sale a service manual. Person also stated that Uniden hasn't made info like that available for about 4 years or so now.
Looks like its poke and pray!
Praying someone leaks a service manual or the individual files.
Which are:
AMWUT561_Circuit Description.pdf
AMWUT561_Schematic Diagram.pdf
AMWUT561_Block Diagram.pdf
AMWUT561_Alignment Procedure.pdf
AMWUT561_Parts List.pdf

Problem is its considered disposable electronics by them so they dont bother supporting it
I don't think its that, I think they are trying to look good to the FCC. Lets face it, its easier to do mods with the schematics and tune up procedures. Fact is they have all the documents, they did submit them to the FCC for type acceptance. So yes if its disposable electronics I can see them not printing a service manual but it's only a couple of mouse clicks to email the files that contain the info that would be found in a paper service manual and they weren't even willing to release those.
I encourage people to call the Uniden America at 1.800.297.1023... press 4 for English, press 3? for parts and accessories, then ask to be transferred to the CB/Scanner dept. and ask for the files. They told me no, but perhaps someone will luck out and get them. Hopefully that person will be good enough to post them or at lest make them available via email to those interested.
Some other useful/direct numbers:

After searching for 10 minutes in Google for the Uniden 890SSB, I realized that you are actually talking about the 980! Thanks for the rabbit trail.
