Im fairly confident that a cobra 29 or galaxy 959 doesnt provide sufficient power to excite the transistors enough to reach anywhere near their rated output.

16 watts drove my 500v to just a hair under 500 pep .
of course most class c amp builders pads the input of the amp so it can handle more input power .
i'm sure that being able to $ell a second amp to drive the padded amp with has nothing to do with it .
